It's snowing right now. But I have set the precedent. "Mom, can I have another breakfast smoothie this morning?" I made something with some frost-bitten raspberries the day before. Today the request was for something strawberry. Once again, inspiration was to use what was on top of the freezer! (I recently did a bunch of freezer meals and I didn't want to dig down for all the other frozen fruits.) So there was one little bag of strawberries and a couple bags of frozen pineapple tidbits from TJs. I'll have to pick up some more now because the response to this smoothie was, "Wow mom, I think this is the best smoothie you've ever made us yet!" No leftovers this time... ♥
Pineapple Strawberry Smoothie
serves 2-3
1 cup frozen pineapple tidbits
¾-1 cup frozen strawberries
¾ cup orange juice
¾ cup greek yogurt, honey or vanilla flavor
1 tbsp maple syrup
Put all ingredients in a blender, secure lid and blend on high until smooth. Stop to scrape down if necessary.
Enjoy!
Sometimes I use all of my clean up stuff from the fridge to make smoothies, yours looks so good!

ReplyDeleteI think I was 10 when I saw a recipe for a banana smoothie in the local newspaper. I made in for my brother and sister and I. We flipped over for it ... we've always called them Flips. This looks like a glorious Flip.
